Happiness causes you to smile; JOY causes your insides to feel warm and full
Happiness is based on what is going on around us; JOY comes from within – from a sense of purpose and meaning
Happiness can become vapour in the blink of an eye; JOY doesn’t rely on momentary circumstances, it is soulful fulfillment
No matter what the situation or circumstance, a person who has deep-seated joy will be able to overcome and work through trials with a peaceful calm
How do you increase joy?- Perform regular aerobic physical activity
- Dedicate yourself to helping others
- Connect with your spiritual side
- Give yourself permission to take a few moments of pleasure, especially when you are feeling low
- Pay attention to the good – ignore negativity
- Let go of the past – forgive
- Practice gratitude
- Surround yourself with positive people
- Redirect your way of thinking
- Create positive daily rituals
- Be fully present in the moment
- Most of all – find your purpose!
