Korean BBQ Beef Melt

This Korean BBQ Beef Melt recipe brings together tender bulgogi beef, creamy honey garlic aioli, melty provolone and cheddar cheese. Topped with tangy kimchi apple slaw and grilled to golden perfection, it’s a flavorful bite of sweet, spicy and savoury!
- 1.5lbs - thinly sliced cooked beef
- 1/2 - small apple or pear, peeled and coarsely grated
- 1/4 cup - soy sauce
- 2 tbsp - brown sugar
- 2 tbsp - toasted sesame oil
- 3 cloves - garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp - ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp - gochujang
- 2 tbsp - vegetable oil
- 1 tsp - toasted sesame seeds
- 1/4 - nappa cabbage, shredded
- 1 - small apple, julliened
- 2 - green onions, chopped fine
- 1 cup - prepared kimchi, roughly chopped
- 1/2 tsp - salt
- 1 tbsp - vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp - juice from the kimchi
- 1/4 cup - honey
- 1 - lime, juiced
- 2 - cloves of garlic, minced fine
- 1.5 cup - mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp - salt
- 1/4 tsp - ground black pepper
- 2 slices - your favourite sandwich bread
- 2 slices - provolone
- 2 slices - cheddar
- 1/3 cup - kimchi slaw
- 2 tbsp - honey garlic aioli
- 5oz - marinated bulgogi beef
- 2 tbsp - butter
- Step 1
Combine all ingredients and allow beef to marinate for at least 20 min up to overnight.

Combine all ingredients and put aside for later.

Combine all ingredients and adjust seasoning to taste.

Preheat oven to 375°F
- Step 2
Preheat a pan over medium-high heat. When pan just starts to smoke, add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan, and sauté the beef until cooked through, about 2- 3 mins put to the side to cool slightly.

Preheat a second pan over medium low heat while you assemble the sandwich.

To assemble the sandwich spread aioli on the inside of both slices of bread. On one side lay both slices of provolone cheese topped with cooked beef, slaw and cheddar. Top with second piece of bread.

Add 1/2 of your butter to hot pan, once melted and bubbling, place sandwich in the pan and toast until a deep golden crust forms. Roughly 1- 2min.

Flip sandwich add remaining butter to the pan, and toast the second side for about one minute. Place sandwich on baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake for 5-7 minutes until cheese is completely melted.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
