The Power Of Nature

The Power Of Nature

I don’t know about you, but there are few things I enjoy more than meandering down nut brown trails with the leaves rustling overhead and the sounds of nature echoing in my ears.

If you stand very quietly on the winding path of a wooded glade, you could be pleasantly surprised by the sounds of rippling water moving down a pebbled stream.  You might even be blessed by the crunching of an occasional beaver gnawing on a weather-worn branch that fits intricately into the puzzle of a dam. The excitement continues to blossom on seeing migrating birds return while the sweet aroma of budding lilacs and apple blossoms wafts through the air once spring arrives.

All of these sights and sounds can be found when taking a moment just to listen. At Ste. Anne’s Spa, our sprawling 500 acre property along with the return of our Spring & Summer Wellness Class Schedule invites you to do just that.

Take advantage of our Gentle Yoga at the Forest Pavilion surrounded by a warm breeze and the heady scents of wildflowers. Join a Guided Walk through our cedar forest or rove across the many acres of verdant property on a Garden Tour while enjoying the colourful palettes of the peaceful gardens.

Working at the spa over the last 22 years, I have often found tranquillity while wandering along the forest trails and pathways at Ste. Anne’s where healing of body, soul and mind prevails.

When not at the spa, I have found a new way to embrace nature with a love of kayaking on the lakes of Ontario.  The serenity of swishing the water with a paddle beside the boat and the sun beaming down warming my skin is soup for the soul.

With gulls swooping overhead hoping for a bobbing fish and swans floating through the shallow waters by the shore, this experience is further heightened by the scenic cottage views that glide by.

There are so many picturesque Provincial Parks and Conservation areas in the southeastern regions of Ontario filled with adventure and opportunities to get closer to the sights and sounds of our scenic landscapes.  Some of my local favourites are listed below for you to discover.

Take a drive, pack a picnic, bring your dogs, a friend or family members and experience the hidden treasures of a forest or reservoir.  Paddle down a scenic waterway, pick up a stick from the earthen floor or look behind an old stump for signs of life, relax and enjoy!
